When is
cry baby clay closing?

My storefront studio will be closing by the end of February, 2024.

The final deadline to return all clay kits was 1/20.

When can I pickup my project from a workshop?

All workshop projects have been fired & are ready for pickup. If you have not yet retrieved your project, you have two weeks in February to come by and get your clay forms. Please refer to the calendar above & plan your pickup accordingly.

Projects left behind after 2/17 will become property of cry baby clay.

When can I drop off my projects?

All clay kit projects must be dropped off by 1/20/23. I can no longer accept projects to fire after 1/20.

I have a gift card. What can I use it towards?

While I am no longer offering workshops or take home clay kits, your gift cards are still valid towards any cry baby clay inventory. I try to keep merch (stickers & patches) regularly stocked. I will also release batches of handmade ceramic objects throughout the year.

What’s next for cry baby clay once you close your community studio?

I am closing down my community studio so that I can focus on my personal work! I will still be creating under the name “cry baby clay” as I was before this in-person studio thing took off!

These past 3 years have been a whirlwind of ups & downs. While it’s been amazing offering my services to community members, I’ve found that I have very little time to put towards my own creativity.

I will be moving out of state eventually, and then setting myself up to be a full-time potter!

In a year’s time (give or take) I’ll be making & selling my wares on a regular basis, primarily online.

I hope you’ll stick around to follow that journey & continue to support cry baby clay!

Do you offer free local pickup?

currently, no. I’m in the process of moving & don’t know where “local” will be fore me for the next several months.

Can you let me know when X item becomes available again?

No, but you can sign up for my mailing list or keep an eye on my instagram to get a good idea of what products will be available when. It is best practice to pounce on something you like though. As one person making ceramic forms, I tend to follow my whimsey, & there’s no guarantee whether I will or won’t repeat forms.

What does it mean to pre-order?

Sometimes I offer pre-orders on forms that I know people are very excited about. Pre-orders are basically you claiming an item that doesn’t exist yet. I’ll occasionally offer popular items for pre-order to make sure people have a good chance at getting something they’ve had their eye on for a while. Please read the timeline of a pre-order carefully before purchasing. Oftentimes it will take 5-8 weeks for a pre-ordered item to be ready.
